Two Iraqis are charged with aggravated rape of a woman on board a Finnish ferry. The act is said to have been particularly reckless – among other things, according to the indictment, the duo inserted a beer can into the woman’s abdomen.

It was according to the indictment in September that the men assaulted the woman in a cabin on Viking Line’s ferry – and brutally gang-raped her.

In connection with the rape, he is said to have inserted a beer can vaginally into the plaintiff and used other objects vaginally and anally.

In addition, the woman was beaten and subjected to repeated acts of violence during the incident.

“The crime should be assessed as serious because more than one victimized the plaintiff and the perpetrators showed particular recklessness and brutality through their approach,” writes the prosecutor according to Expressen.

Chamber prosecutor Emma Svedberg believes that the perpetrators took advantage of the fact that the woman was in a particularly vulnerable situation, in a cramped space that she could hardly get out of.

The men, who are citizens of Iraq and are respectively 36 and 32 years old, are also charged with minor drug offences, when they used cocaine on board the ferry.

The prosecutor demands that one of the men be deported from Sweden and banned from returning for life, writes Expressen.
