USDA announces 3.5% higher food prices in coming months

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) released a report recently which details changes in food price indexes for the years 2012-2014. Astonishingly in the report, the U.S. is headed for a massive increase on certain foods in the coming months. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) gave its assessment of the historic drought Friday, forecasting national corn production at 10.8 billion bushels, down 13% from 2011 and the lowest production since 2006.
