Richard Lynn, pioneering British psychologist in intelligence research, has died, VDare reports. Among other things, Lynn is known for his significant findings on the genetically determined IQ differences between different ethnic groups. His career was marked by the fact that he was subjected to a frenzy from the left-liberal side.
Richard Lynn was Professor of Psychology at the University of Ulster and a pioneer in developing and improving methods of measuring intelligence.
His work in this area has contributed to the development of accurate and reliable intelligence tests that have since been used in extensive studies around the world.
Lynn explored the role of intelligence in various aspects of human behavior and performance. His research ranged from studies on the influence of intelligence on education and work performance to its relationship to social and economic factors.
Through his international studies, Richard Lynn helped shed light on differences in average intelligence between different peoples. Together with the late Finnish professor Tatu Vanhanen, he wrote the highly acclaimed books IQ and the Wealth of Nations (2002) and IQ and Global Inequality (2006).
Lynn and Vanhanen were able to show in the books the strong correlation between the average IQ level in a country and the country’s economic success. Since IQ is largely controlled by genes, a gloomy picture is painted regarding the possibilities for third world countries to develop prosperous societies.
In later studies, he has also shown how there are significant IQ differences within countries, for example between southern and northern Italy and Spain. This is explained by the fact that the native population in the southern parts of these countries has large elements of genes from, among other things, the Arab world and thus significantly lower intelligence.
Richard Lynn has had to endure fierce attacks from the left-liberal side. Rather than pointing out errors in his research, the attacks have consisted of painting him as “racist” and the like and trying to de-platform him.
In 2018, the University of Ulster withdrew his emeritus title following demands from students who accused him of being “racist and sexist”.
Richard Lynn died peacefully on July 17, according to friend Edward Dutton. He was 93 years old.
