At around 7:20 p.m., a 20-year-old is said to have asked a 16-year-old to hand over cigarettes and a mobile phone. When the young person then informed a family member, he went to the train station and is said to have attacked the 20-year-old and his two 20- and 17-year-old companions with a warning triangle. The trio is said to have hit and kicked the 36-year-old together. The physical confrontation shifted further and further to the edge of the platform. Finally, the three pushed the 36-year-old back so far that he fell onto the track. When the 17-year-old and the 20-year-old saw that an ICE was approaching, they went onto the track and pulled the injured 36-year-old out of the danger zone. The ICE train driver noticed the people on the track and initiated emergency braking. The train came to a standstill about 50 meters behind the people. Rescue workers took the injured 36-year-old to a hospital for medical treatment.”

The federal police are investigating the three Syrian nationals on suspicion of dangerous intervention in rail traffic. The investigations into the physical altercations in advance, including against the 36-year-old German national, are being conducted by the Brandenburg police.
