The theological faculty at the University of Helsinki will promote Greta Thunberg to an honorary doctorate, reports the Finnish media.
The universities intend to promote 30 “highly meritorious people from around the world” to honorary doctorates during the “jubilee year of the promotion” in 2023.
One of the lucky ones is the Swedish climate prophet Greta Thunberg.
The fact that it is precisely the theological faculty that is responsible for the appointment does not diminish the jokes about “Holy Greta”.
Finnish President Sauli Niinistö is one of the people who will receive the award from the Faculty of Philosophy.
Greta has previously also received an honorary doctorate at a Belgian university.
