Multiple sexual assaults reportedly perpetrated against youngsters at a London hotel hosting “asylum seekers” are being looked into by authorities, according to reports.
Investigations are being conducted into two distinct occurrences involving young male victims that took place at an undisclosed hotel in the Waltham Forest district weeks apart.
Although suspects in both cases were detained in September and October, U.K. press is just now reporting the facts.
On October 5, Metropolitan Police received accusations that a man had sexually assaulted a teenage boy at the establishment.
The victim, a teenage boy, and his family were spoken to by the officers that responded to the scene. The police are offering specialized help, a police spokeswoman told The Guardian.
“A 30-year-old male was detained at the spot after being apprehended. He was given a date in early January 2023 to return on bail.
A suspect who claimed to be a teenager is suspected of sexually assaulting a kid at the same spot on September 9.
According to the Met Police, “a guy, thought to be 17 years old, was charged on Sunday, September 11 with one crime of sexual contact of a child under 13.”
He was granted bail by the judge and ordered to show up at Stratford Magistrates’ Court on November 9th.
According to sources, there are 250 people and about 150 children residing at the motel.
In the U.K.,’refugees’ are increasingly staying in hotels, even 4 and 5-star establishments.
Based on a The Guardian report “Despite Home Office commitments to reduce its usage, the number of asylum seekers staying in hotels nearly tripled in 2021. Rishi Sunak stated at prime minister’s questions on Wednesday that the Home Office needed to make hotel reservations for hundreds more migrants.”
According to a government source who spoke to The Telegraph, the U.K. Home Office is currently considering ideas for housing migrants in hotels among other guests.
