With the rapper being accused of anti-Semitism after tweeting on Sunday that he wanted to “go death con 3 [sic] on Jewish People,” whom he claimed “invented cancel culture,” Kanye West’s return to Twitter has been contentious.
In the small hours of Sunday morning, West tweeted, “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE” possibly alluding to “DEFCON 3,” a level of heightened readiness utilized by the US military.
“The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic,” he continued, “because black people are actually Jew also. You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”
The tweet was quickly removed after widespread condemnation of the accusations of a Jewish plot. But a subsequent tweet that posed the question, “Who do you believe created cancel culture?” is still online.
This week, West had his Instagram account suspended after releasing a string of texts with fellow rapper Diddy in which the latter attempted to get West to take off his “White Lives Matter” t-shirt. West retorted that he was being “threatened” into silence by Diddy, who he said was sent by “the Jewish people.”

West wore the “White Lives Matter” shirt at a fashion show in Paris on Monday, and he called the Black Lives Matter campaign “a hoax” on Instagram the next day. West responded to criticism from leftist commentators and his fellow celebs by telling Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson that “White Lives Matter” is true. The apparent thing is it.
The Anti-Defamation League chimed in on Friday in response to West’s comments to Carlson that he saw Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s Jewish son-in-law, as the former president’s “manager.” They described the rapper’s actions as “very worrisome, dangerous, and antisemitic.”
“There is no excuse for his propagating of white supremacist slogans and classic antisemitism about Jewish power, especially with the platform he has,” the organization declared.
