In Novosibirsk, 27-year-old Tajik Khushnud Khamroev stabbed a 16-year-old girl out of jealousy.
He stabbed her 14 times and fled the scene. He was detained 28 kilometers from the crime scene and is being interrogated.

The suspect was detained the next day near the Khilok market, a place where trucks from Central Asia come. Law enforcement officials believe that Khamroev planned to leave Russia and was looking for fellow countrymen who could help him with this, Kommersant writes.
During interrogation, the detainee confessed, and later said journalists that the reason for the murder was “treason”.
Relatives of the deceased several times turned to the police with complaints about threats against the girl from Khamroev – in the period from November 2021 to June 2022, they filed three applications. Law enforcement officers refused to initiate criminal cases, and the prosecutor’s office confirmed these decisions. Taiga.info writes that the police started administrative proceedings under the article on beatings, but the results of the forensic medical examination were never received by the police.
