Michigan Passes Law to Make Calling Person Wrong Pronouns a Felony, Jail up to 5 Years or Fines up to $10K
The Michigan House of Representatives passed a “hate speech bill” this week called HB 4474, which allows felony charges to be pressed against individuals who call someone by the “wrong” gender pronoun.
Under the new bill, offenders would be “guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 5 years, or by a fine of not more than $10,000.”
