Israeli settlers have overnight set on fire a mosque near the West Bank town of Ramallah, according to Palestinian security officials. “The settlers set fire to the whole of the first floor of the mosque” in the village of Al-Mughayir, near the Shilo Jewish settlement, the officials said, as cited by AFP. Netanyahu halts Israeli plans for new West Bank settler homes following criticism

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called for his housing minister to reconsider long-term plans to construct thousands of new homes in the West Bank and in the contentious E1 area outside Jerusalem. Netanyahu said in a statement that the plans would make “no contribution” to settlements, AP reports. He added that they had caused “unnecessary conflict” with the international community.... 

Radical Israeli settlers vandalize Christian monastery

Radical Jewish settlers vandalized a Christian church outside of Jerusalem, spray-painting “Jesus is a bastard” and “price tag” on its outer door. Such attacks have been on the rise despite police promises to curb hate crimes in the Holy Land. The blue graffiti denigrating the central figure to the Christian religion was scrawled on the door of the Franciscan Convent near the Dormition Abbey... 

Israel approves plan to pump funds into illegal settlements
