‘Meme-killing’ EU regulation could end YouTube as we know it, CEO warns

This is beyond USSR levels. Why would those rich old freaks care about what peasants do online? They have their millions of Euros, mansions, pools, luxury cars and all but you the peasant can’t even have a freaking laugh on the internet according to these SOBs. Why do they even care what we plebeian peasants do? Why can’t they just enjoy all the stuff they stole and received in bribes...

The EU Copyright Directive, due to be put to vote soon, most naturally aims to protect the intellectual property of people who author material uploaded to the internet, but there are a number of potential repercussions that come with the move. A new provision to the EU Copyright Law, titled Article 13, would lead to the banning of parody content on the world wide web, such as viral memes, campaigners...
