Elon Musk’s new AI robot Grok is more left-wing than the notoriously far-left chatbot ChatGPT, according to a researcher.
David Rozado, a visual analytics researcher, tested subjecting Grok to several types of ideological quizzes and consistently got similar results.
Grok was “establishment liberal,” “left-liberal,” and—perhaps most telling to Musk’s conservative fanbase—”progressive.”
Musk has repeatedly warned of a “Terminator future” in which human civilization is destroyed by artificial intelligence.
In March, he signed an open letter calling for a six-month freeze on major AI development, but soon backed away from the demands and instead established xAI, his own AI startup.
The Tesla tycoon launched chatbot Grok last month as a tougher and less politically correct challenger to ChatGPT, which has become notorious for its establishment-leaning and often anti-radical profile.
The system is claimed to have “real-time knowledge of the world”, which is obtained through X, formerly Twitter.
