Zelensky Fires Ukraine's Defense Minister for Corruption

The minister has been surrounded by suspicions of corruption since the beginning of the year and, among other things, bought winter jackets of poor quality worth of $20 million. Jackets that couldn’t stand the cold.

“Oleksiy Reznikov has gone through more than 550 days of full-scale war. I think the Ministry of Defense needs new approaches and other forms of interaction with both the military and society at large,” writes Zelensky on Telegram.

Zelenskyy has nominated the Crimean Tatar Rustem Umerov as the new defense minister and asked the parliament to vote through the proposal.

“I expect the parliament’s support,” writes Zelensky on Telegram.
