Russian forces have faced a significant setback in the besieged city of Bakhmut, Ukraine, as Kyiv’s military reclaimed ground, according to the Ministry of Defence. Over the past four days, Russian troops withdrew from positions in the southern flank of the city, marking a humiliating defeat for the Kremlin. Ukrainian forces have reportedly regained at least a kilometer of territory, signaling a potential turning point in the conflict.

The Ministry of Defence highlighted intelligence suggesting Russia’s severe shortage of credible combat units, further undermining its military efforts. Moscow acknowledged the setbacks, admitting to the withdrawal of its forces north of Bakhmut, the most significant Ukrainian gains in six months.

In a coordinated effort, Ukrainian forces appear to be encircling Russian troops in Bakhmut, a strategic objective for both sides. Reports indicate that Ukrainian counter-offensive activities have liberated significant territory, with clashes intensifying in the region.

However, Russian officials painted a different picture, claiming Ukrainian assaults with substantial troop and tank presence. Despite repelling multiple attacks, Russian troops reportedly fell back to regroup near the Berkhivka reservoir, northwest of Bakhmut.

The situation escalated further with reports of missile strikes hitting industrial complexes in Luhansk, deep within Russian-occupied territory. The strikes, beyond the range of previous battlefield rockets, followed Britain’s announcement of sending longer-range cruise missiles, indicating a heightened conflict.

Amidst the military advances, Germany’s pledge of a substantial military equipment package worth billions provided a significant boost to Ukraine’s defense capabilities. The reported evacuation orders issued by Russia in the occupied Kharkiv region further underscored the escalating tensions and potential territorial losses.

Despite the developments, President Volodymyr Zelensky remained resolute, asserting that Russian forces were mentally prepared for defeat. The ongoing conflict and territorial gains by Ukraine showcased a resilient resistance against Russian aggression.

As the situation continued to evolve, the whereabouts of Russian President Vladimir Putin remained uncertain, with limited public appearances amid mounting challenges on the battlefield. The shifting dynamics and intensified fighting indicated a critical juncture in the conflict, with both sides vying for strategic advantages amidst a complex geopolitical landscape.

  1. Zelensky has been blackmailing European countries including Britain to give more weapons free of charge as the last lot of weapons that Ukraine was given by Britain, the EU and USA have all been destroyed, Russia on the other hand, can attack any part of Ukraine at will.
