The Italian government is singled out in the European media as “far-right” and “post-fascist”, but despite this, illegal immigration to Italy has tripled this year, Reuters reports.
Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni went to the polls on stopping illegal Third World immigration.
But since she took office in October, not much has happened on that front. Instead, immigration has tripled.
So far this year, more than 17,000 illegal immigrants have arrived in Italy via the Mediterranean Sea, compared to around 6,000 during the same period last year.
Just last Saturday, according to Reuters, 1,300 immigrants smuggled to the coast of Italy were “rescued” and allowed to go ashore to seek asylum.
The Italian government initially claimed to try to stop this handling. Among other things, they threatened to send the human-smuggling left-wing organizations’ boats to their respective flag countries, such as Norway and Germany. After being criticized by other EU countries, however, they quickly bowed down and agreed to continue receiving the human smugglers’ loads of immigrants from the third world.
