The American R&B star R. Kelly gets 20 years in prison for, among other things, human trafficking and sexual exploitation of minors. A court in New York has decided this week.
The star, who has sold over 100 million albums, is accused of producing three pornographic films in which he sexually exploited his 14-year-old goddaughter, writes The New York Times.
The only way to ensure that he does not commit more crimes … is to keep him in prison for the rest of his life, said one of the prosecutors.
And so it will be. The 56-year-old R&B singer was sentenced to 30 years in prison in a similar trial last fall. This week’s 20 years is now added to the total sentence.
