Liberala Dagens Nyheter spreads such gross incitement against Russians in its Saturday supplement that Twitter has stopped the spread of the image.
The front page of DN’s Saturday supplement is adorned with a picture of Laura Swaan Wrede, who is head of the Home Guard.
The reader learns that Swaan Wrede’s grandmother used to say that “a Russian is a Russian even if you fry him in butter”.
This wording has caused offense on Twitter, which has chosen to limit the spread of the image on the grounds that it is “offensive content”.
“I don’t think the equivalent went down well if it was said about a Jew, Gypsy or Arab,” writes one user, for example.
It is also not possible to upload the picture on the Saturday supplement in a new post on Twitter.
In Sweden, there is a law against “hate against ethnic groups”, which, however, is never used against liberals, but in practice only against people who are critical of Swedish immigration policy.
On Twitter, it was also previously practically free for liberals to incite war against different peoples until billionaire Elon Musk recently took over the social media platform.
