Romanian authorities have seized gadgets and money worth 18 million lei (about $4 million) as part of the criminal investigation against Internet profiler Andrew Tate.
In the past week, the Romanian recovery agency has secured 29 loose items, including luxury vehicles and watches, as well as cash in various currencies.
On Saturday, a reporter from the news agency saw several cars, including a Rolls-Royce, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, being taken from Tate’s residence on the outskirts of the capital, Bucharest.
Andrew Tate, his brother and two Romanian female suspects were arrested on December 29 on charges of forming a criminal gang for the purpose of sexually exploiting women. They have denied wrongdoing.
The detainees contested the detention request, but the Bucharest High Court decided that they should remain in police custody.
Andrew Tate, a former contestant on the British reality show Big Brother, has become famous mainly for his misogynistic rhetoric.
Despite being blocked in social media, his following of mainly young men has grown throughout the world, something he has made a lot of money from.
His Twitter account also became active again in November, after Elon Musk acquired the platform and emphasized that Twitter would be a forum for different kinds of opinions, as opposed to before.
Tate, who has American and British citizenship, has said, among other things, that women bear a “personal responsibility” not to be raped and that they “belong to men”, according to Reuters.
