The facts date back to Saturday, December 10 around 10 p.m., rue des Lauriers-Roses in Montpellier. Since then, the defendant, a Moroccan in an irregular situation, has been sentenced to eighteen months in prison with a warrant of committal.

What was the surprise of this 36-year-old Montpellier resident returning from an evening with his daughter and his wife, this Saturday, December 10 around 10 p.m., to discover behind the front door of his house, located rue des Lauriers -Roses, several bags containing many of her personal belongings.

Upon searching the property, he eventually found a person who threatened to place him in his room but did not display a weapon. The owner of the property, who was able to keep the invader under control, prevailed in the ensuing struggle between the two men.

The police detained this homeless Moroccan who was living irregularly on national land. He was taken into jail after being apprehended by police while carrying a wallet that had two residency permits, a Tam card, and a credit card that had been reported stolen in November in Montpellier’s Gares neighborhood.

The offender was eventually sentenced to 18 months in jail with a committal warrant after being judged by the court on Monday. It should be mentioned that he will be forbidden from residing on national territory for five years after his release from jail.
