Since the Cuban Missile Crisis 40 years ago, US President Joe Biden has warned that there has never been a bigger threat of nuclear “Armageddon” to the West and Russia. President Vladimir Putin promised that Russia would protect its citizens and territory with “all the tools at our disposal,” which Washington and its NATO allies perceived as a threat to use nuclear weapons.
When asked if the 30 NATO nations had addressed the possibility that the Steadfast Noon exercise may lead to a mistake amid increased tensions with Russia, Jens Stoltenberg brushed off the issue. The moment is ripe to state unequivocally that NATO exists to defend and protect all of its partners. And this drill has been long planned; in fact, it was prepared before the invasion of Ukraine.
The secretary-general also stated that canceling the nuclear exercise because of the Ukraine conflict would send “a very incorrect signal.” We must comprehend that the greatest approach to avert an escalation is through NATO’s tough, predictable behavior and our military might. We are there to maintain the peace, stop any escalation, and stop any attack on nations that are allies of NATO.
We would heighten the risk of escalation if we now gave Moscow any reason to misinterpret or underestimate our readiness to protect and defend all Allies, and that is the last thing we will do.
Nuclear threats are deterred by NATO’s readiness to fight against any assault, according to Stoltenberg. The invasion of Ukraine increased the importance of this, he continued, “not least in light of the nuclear hyperbole from President Putin and from Russia.”
According to Stoltenberg, the alliance is continuously monitoring Russia’s nuclear capabilities and has not noticed any changes in their posture. He also said that the NATO ministers will decide on Wednesday to build up their arsenals. Recent media reports suggest that the bloc’s members are having trouble finding weaponry quickly enough as their inventories are depleted by help to Ukraine.

Jens Stoltenberg is just the secretary-general of NATO and as such has no power whatsoever and is just the mouthpiece of NATO, so he can say whatever he wants, he amounts to nothing more than a bag of wind like most politicians. Vladimir Putin on the other hand is a World Statesman unmatched by any Western politician.
