Chechen fighters have been accused of raping mobilised soldiers from the occupied parts of the Donbas. Russia originally took over parts of Ukraine’s Donbas back in 2014, creating two pseudo-statelets in the process – the Donestk People’s Republic (DNR) and the Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR). These statelets were formally absorbed into the Russia last Friday at a ceremony in the Kremlin, along with the provinces of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia.
Civilians from the Donbas occupied areas have been some of the first to be drafted into Putin’s army.
They have provided a regular source of troop reinforcements for Putin’s beleaguered generals, as they seek to cover their huge losses on the front lines.
However, the wives and mothers of drafted recruits from the city of Dokuchaevsk have accused Chechen soldiers of sexually assaulting and humiliating them.
The women wrote a letter to the Kremlin-appointed leader of the DNR, Denis Pushilin, and demanded that he initiate an investigation and punish the perpetrators.
If you had any doubt, thinking that the Chechen rapes were on Russian women soldiers, the answer is no, here in the letter below, it couldn’t be more clearer. These were homosexual rapes.
They said: “We ask that you defend our husband and sons from harassment by Chechen soldiers, carry out an investigation and punish the guilty who have mocked our relatives.
“Despite their lack of military experience our men uncomplainingly carry out their duty to the people of the Republic and defend the motherland from neo-Nazis.
“Moreover, they carry out with honour the military tasks they are given.
“And what do they get in return?
“On the front lines, our dearest and nearest are subjected to mockery and humiliation by Chechens who are taking part in the special military operation.
“In the vicinity of Berestovoye, where our troops repel attacks by Ukrainian nationalist battalions, an unprecedented incident occurred.
“Two soldiers from the People’s militia of the DNR, who were mobilised from Dokuchaevsk and used to work in the town’s administration, were raped by Chechen fighters in front of their comrades.
“Comrades who wanted to defend our lads were threatened with weapons and told they would be shot ‘like dogs’ if they intervened.
“The Chechens have insulted our soldiers and made it clear that we are not people, that we are nothing in our own land – they see us as animals and they will do as they please with us.
“Have our men and children really been fighting for this? To be mocked by Chechen scoundrels?
“We have lived for eight years under the shelling from Ukrainian nationalists to await the arrival of Chechen who RAPE OUR MEN!!!”
Chechnya’s leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, has been a vocal and loyal supporter of Putin and his war in Ukraine.
He is reported to have sent thousands of his soldiers to fight along with the Russian army.
The Chechen strongman was quick to divert blame away from the Russian President for the fall of Lyman to Ukrainian forces over the weekend.
He said the commander of Russia’s Central Military District, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin, had to shoulder the responsibility for the latest battlefield fiasco.
Kadyrov said: “The commander of the Central Military District Colonel-General Alexander Lapin was in charge of the defence of this sector.
“The same Lapin who received the star of Hero of Russia for the capture of Lysychansk, although de facto he was nowhere near there.
“Lapin was also subordinated to the troops of the Western Military District.
“The Colonel-General had deployed mobilised fighters from the LNR and other units at all the Lyman direction but had not provided them with the necessary communication, interaction and ammunition supply.”
