What’s with 2022?!?!?!? The year of the devil or something? Why does everyone wants to fight everyone in 2022!?!?? Russia VS Ukraine, China VS Taiwan, Armenia VS Azerbaijan and now Serbia VS Kosovo! Let us hope the Serbian president doesn’t make the same mistake that Putin is made. Opt for diplomatic solutions instead and try to avoid wars!
President Alexander Vucic told the national assembly on Tuesday that Kosovo is a threat to Serbia’s security and raises the possibility of bloody confrontations in the area.
The deployment of more special troops on the border of Kosovo with Serbia, according to Vucic, has exacerbated tensions there.
“Due to Pristina’s actions, Serbia is currently experiencing serious security issues. I want to note that the special police forces of Pristina are becoming more visible in the northern part of Kosovo and Metohija. I’ll also let you know about the fortification of our posts, Vucic said.
He emphasized that “the Serbian side is not creating a crisis,” but he also stated that “the threat is close, objective, and significant.”
In a televised speech last week, Vucic said that Serbia was under pressure from several European nations to settle the Kosovo war by accepting a deal that would practically recognize the breakaway region.
Belgrade has also been asked to explain its stance on the conflict between the West and Russia over Ukraine, according to Vucic. According to Vucic, Serbia has “again become collateral damage in the struggles of the big powers.”
Kosovo proclaimed its independence in 2008 after receiving backing from the West. Serbia, Russia, China, and the UN have not recognized Kosovo as an independent country, despite the US and many of its allies doing so. Both lack a total of five EU members.
Early in August, as Pristina sought to forbid Serbian papers and license plates, tensions between Serbia and Kosovo flared up once more. The US envoy pushed for the delay, but Kosovo officials have promised to implement the measure eventually.
Since then, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has stated that he is willing to repair relations with Serbia but has emphasized that Kosovo Albanians and Serbs must be treated equally when it comes to entry-exit documents.
