An older disabled man was attacked and robbed by a masked suspect aboard a bus in New York City this month, according to authorities.
The disturbing incident unfolded on Staten Island in August, but NYPD just released footage in hopes of obtaining information about the suspect.
“On 8/13/22 at approx. 9:10 PM, on a S40 Bus near Clinton Ave and Richmond Terrace on Staten Island, the suspect approached a 64-year-old male in a wheelchair and forcibly removed cash,” NYPD explained in a statement.
Surveillance footage shows the suspect approach the victim from the rear of a nearly-empty MTA bus.
The suspect suddenly ambushes the disabled man, ultimately ripping $250 in cash from the man’s shirt pocket during a struggle, sources told the New York Post.

The victim briefly attempts to fight back but the suspect breaks free and runs off the bus.
Additional footage of the suspect captured by cameras at a nearby convenience store show a black male, estimated to be in his 20s.
Interestingly, the Post neglected to mention any details about the suspect’s race, which is a recurring theme in mainstream media’s coverage of crime.
