Members of the Russia-backed government in the Ukrainian area have asserted that security mechanisms at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant have been triggered following a power loss that briefly left the facility without energy.
According to authorities, the facility has subsequently been linked to a backup power source.
Massive flames in the region, which are a result of the fierce fighting there, are claimed to have started the blackout.
Short-circuits in the local grid were caused by fires that consumed a portion of the steppe and woodlands around the city of Energodar, cutting off electricity to a portion of the Zaporozhye area as well as the nearby Kherson region.
Yevgeny Balitski, the chairman of Energodar’s pro-Russian military-civilian administration, was reported in the media as saying: “According to preliminary information, fields and underbrush caught fire because to intensive bombardment by the Ukrainian armed forces, which has persisted since last night.
