On the night before Sunday, a person was beaten to death at Djulö campsite in Katrineholm. On Wednesday, the suspected perpetrator was requested to be detained.
The murder victim, a man in his 20s on a visit from Stockholm, was found dead with severe wounds inflicted with some cover. Later on Sunday, a person suspected of the act was arrested and detained.
The person, a 21-year-old migrant with citizenship in Syria, was requested on Wednesday to be detained on suspicion of murder. The degree of suspicion is the higher – for probable cause. An arrest hearing will be held on Thursday.
In contrast to the victim, the Syrian lives in Katrineholm. Interrogations have been held with the suspect, but the police have not published any information from this and it is not clear whether the man admits or denies the crime.
The Syrian is previously known to the police and has a criminal record that includes sexual harassment, violations of the knife law and theft.
Djulö camping where the murder was committed has as its slogan “Peaceful, harmonious, joy!”
