A federal judge this week unsealed a California Highway Patrol video depicting the death of Edward Bronstein, a Burbank man who pleaded for help as officers kneeled on top of him following a 2020 traffic stop. Where’s the White Lives Matter riots? Where’s the cries over “systemic racism and supremacy”?
Two months before George Floyd uttered the words that would dominate Black Lives Matter demonstrations, Bronstein, 38, died after screaming “I can’t breathe” while multiple officers restrained him as they tried to take a blood sample, according to records and a video.
Edward Bronstein was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence by CHP Officer Dusty Osmanson after a traffic stop on the 5 Freeway on March 31, 2020.
The suspect was taken to the CHP’s Altadena station, where officers tried forcibly to draw his blood to measure his alcohol level, but he reportedly refused.
At the start of the nearly 18-minute video, Bronstein is placed on his knees by two officers while handcuffed behind his back. At least five uniformed officers are visible during various parts of the video. An officer presses his hands onto his shoulders while another officer, who is off-camera, orders him to comply with a court-ordered blood draw.
“You are bringing the fight to this, not us,” one of the cops says. “I am not bringing the fight at all,” Bronstein replies.
“This is your last opportunity. Otherwise, you’re going face down on the mat and we’re gonna keep on going.”
Several officers force the handcuffed man to the mat as he shouts “I’ll do it willingly! I’ll do it willingly, I promise!”, the video shows. At least five officers continue to hold him down — the lawsuit alleges they put their knees on his back — as he screams “I’ll do it! I’ll do it! I promise!”
One officer replies: “It’s too late.” Bronstein screams and says, “I can’t breathe,” and “I can’t!” before the blood is taken, shouting it about eight times and pleading for help as the officers continue to restrain him on the ground.
“Stop yelling!” an officer yells back.
After Bronstein stops moving, another minute elapses before the officers realize he is not responding and try to revive him. As he lies face down, one of them slaps him on the head before he is finally turned over.
An officer then asks for CPR to be given — but more than 11 minutes elapse after Bronstein’s last screams before they begin to administer it.
Watch the video below:
The family filed a wrongful-death lawsuit in December 2020, but they also want Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón to file criminal charges against the officers.
“My dad was a good person,” Bronstein’s daughter, Brianna Palomino, said Tuesday. “Nobody deserves to die this way.”
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office later determined Bronstein died from “acute methamphetamine intoxication during restraint by law enforcement.” It listed the manner of death as “undetermined.”
The trial date in the federal lawsuit is scheduled for December 13, court documents show.
The video was released yesterday but the whole situation was ignored by the mainstream media for years because the victim didn’t fit their false narrative.

SO THIS IS A REAL event vs. Floyd, which I do not believe was a real event but a staged event.
The shocking thing is the cops tried to DRAW BLOOD? That’s not allowed as far as I know.
What is going on?
We must have rule of law and not government abuse and war on citizens.
Because he is white, nobody cares.
