Chancellor Angela Merkel has announced that unvaccinated citizens will be banned from public life in Germany as she laid out new rules set to be imposed soon in response to the Omicron variant.
“It is absolutely time to act.”
Under the new rules, access to restaurants, bars, gyms, cinemas, and events will be restricted to those who can’t show proof of vaccination or recovery from the virus.
Merkel also said that parliament will debate the possibility of imposing a general vaccine mandate that would come into force as early as February. Around 68.7% of Germany’s population of 83.2 million people are fully vaccinated.
Unelected EU President from Germany, Ursula von der Leyen said earlier this week that a discussion is needed on making vaccines mandatory in Europe.
“If you look at the numbers, we have now 77% of the adults in the European Union vaccinated or if you take the whole population, it’s 66%, and this means one-third of the European population is not vaccinated. These are 150 million people.”
The president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen told the European Parliament today that the EU must “consider” mandatory vaccination for every citizen in response to the “highly contagious” Omicron variant.
“We have the vaccines, the life-saving vaccines, but they are not being used adequately everywhere. And this costs … This is an enormous health cost coming along.”
Von der Leyen continued, saying that the EU’s 27 member states should rapidly deploy booster doses and recommended that countries ‘temporarily’ enforce pre-travel PCR tests, which would effectively end freedom of movement in the EU for European citizens while non-European Arabs and Africans can invade infinitely without any PCR tests or whatever, a fundamental value of the bloc.
“One-third of the European population is not vaccinated … not each and everyone can be vaccinated – children, for example, or people with special medical conditions – but the vast majority could.
How we can encourage and potentially think about mandatory vaccination within the European Union, this needs discussion. This needs a common approach, but it is a discussion that I think has to be met.”
Fucking Germans! Seems that Germany is led by a bunch of hags playing dictators…
