Every week in Australia, a woman is killed in a case of domestic violence.
“It’s a grossly under reported epidemic around Australia,” NSW Attorney General Mark Speakman told A Current Affair.
Now a new drug trial tested in Australia could put an end to violent urges and feelings of anger in those likely to offend.
“We are appalled by it when it does happen,” NSW Chief Magistrate Graeme Henson told A Current Affair.
“The criminal justice system is effectively the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff – the problems that arise before the person goes over the cliff and we are left to clean up the mess at the bottom.”
One domestic violence murder has particularly stuck with the judge in his 32-year career.
Andrea Patrick was stabbed to death by her partner in 1993, despite a restraining order being in place.
Now the senior magistrate has thrown his support behind a new, world first drug program aimed primarily at domestic violence offenders.
“It’s a multi-faceted environment in which we have to operate and it is speculative – we see people in our courtroom for a very short period of time but their lives of course go on outside and it’s difficult in those circumstances to try and see and second guess the effectiveness of your outcomes,” Judge Henson said.
The trial is called Reinvest and involves the subject taking a small dose of antidepressant to lift serotonin and manage their anger to help prevent attacks.
A total of 200 men volunteered to take part in the trial and 70 per cent of them were domestic violence offenders.

Yes you should be aggressive, angry and violent. You should express yourself by screaming, gesticulating, breaking stuff around you and stuff like that if needed just abstain yourself from physical violence with your family and friends. There’s other wars you need to fight, such as with the non-white invaders.
Let us tell you what the white men of Australia should do regarding this. Know that you are at risk, if your woman calls the cops just for annoying her or something and she’ll lie to them that you beat her, you’re gonna be castrated and you’re gonna be effeminate and grow tits.
