Sweden’s minister for social affairs compared Hungary’s new family assistance measures to Nazism. Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjarto hit back by criticising the Scandinavian country’s migration policy.

In a tweet, Annika Strandhall, the Swedish minister for social affairs, said that Hungary’s “alarming” policies were“reeking with the 1930’s”. She suggested the Hungarian prime minister, who seeks to promote the birth of “more true Hungarian” babies was a “right-wing populist trying to obscure the consequences of those policies to the independence women have earned”.

As Hungarian daily Magyar Hirlap reported, Strandhall approvingly shared an article by Aftonbladet. Another Swedish outlet, Sydsvenskan, also published an article with similar opinions. According to journalist Sofia Nerbrand, the pro-family action plan is offensive to women and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban should be ashamed after saying that he wants more Hungarian children instead of immigrants.

Contrary to Hungary, Sweden “spends money on migrants rather than on families”, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto reacted.

Well then, promoting family is Nazism, then I guess Nazism isn’t that bad after all. Promoting family? Sounds great! What about Sweden promoting population replacement? Is that better? Isn’t that…………….. a crime or something?
