French President Emmanuel Macron has said the country will move more slowly than promised to cap the amount of energy it derives from nuclear energy.
Amid daily protests about high energy prices, Mr Macron said France will shut down 14 nuclear reactors by 2035 out of 58 now in order.
He said France would cap the amount of electricity it derives from nuclear plants at 50 per cent by 2035, which is a delay compared with the goal of 2025 set by his predecessor Francois Hollande.
France depends more on nuclear energy than any other country, getting about three-quarters of its electricity from its 19 nuclear plants.
The French leader promised to develop renewable energy instead, saying his priority is weaning France’s economy from fuel that contributes to global warming.
Do these boomer moronic politicians even know how a nuclear plant functions??? Its somewhat similar to the steam engine but its even better. In the steam engine you need to burn coal in order to heat the water but in this case this is a CLOSED F-ING CIRCUIT!!
Nothing gets in, nothing gets out, uranium fuel rods heat the water inside the capsule, which turns into steam that passes through turbines, the turbines start to spin and produce electricity, then the steam through natural convection turns back into water and so on. Its a closed circuit, no CO2 emissions, nothing!
This IS GREEN ENERGY!!!!! After we have our revolution, we need to issue a law which sounds something like this: NO MAN shall be president if he has an IQ lower of 120. Seriously you need to have a sharp mind to lead a country, aren’t you sick and tired of being led by those stupid imbeciles?
Yeah yeah we know Chernobyl…….. Chernobyl blew up because the idiot communists used graphite control rods. There was also a series of human errors… Well yes all in all nuclear is very dangerous and needs to be upgraded and take all possibilities into account, but not complete ban. Solar and wind plants are crap, they are costly and produce too little energy.
As for the nuclear waste that remains from those plants, just load it in a freaking rocket and send it into space without any destination and while you’re at it, don’t just waste a rocket like that, equip it with cameras and stuff and let it send data back to Earth as if it was sent to explore the space not to get us rid of nuclear waste. Jesus Christ, how come those imbeciles who rule over us never have any creative and ingenious ideas?
