The girls sat waiting for a bus to arrive and joked about a Facebook video. Then a woman suddenly appeared, screaming and accused the girls of being “racists” and cut one of them in the ear with a knife.
The bizarre event took place on the evening of 28 December 2017 in central Gothenburg. The three girls sat quietly on a bench and waited for a bus while joking about a known immigrant on Facebook.
The 26-year-old woman, who was at the bus stop together with her Iranian boyfriend, heard their conversation and started screaming about “racism.”
The triggered woman then violently attacked the trio. In the turmoil she pulled out a folding knife and used it to cut one of the girls – who was 16 years old at the time – in the ear so violently that blood started streaming down her neck.
She also pulled the victims hair and spat on her. The girl’s wound required seven stitches.
The vicious knife attack against the 16-year-old was captured on a surveillance camera and the Gothenburg District Court has this week sentenced the 26-year-old to one and a half years in prison.
Her Iranian boyfriend was sentenced to probation for drug offence and violation of the Swedish Knife Law.
