A triple stabbing takes place at Birmingham’s city centre on Monday. Another stabbing at Hackney Central London Overground on Tuesday. What does today hold?
The Birmingham shopping area on High Street in Dal End was cordoned off near a McDonald’s restaurant and the Oasis Project on Monday evening. The cordon is likely to remain for some time.
According to witnesses, there were around 100 youths in the area at around 5:45pm where three people suffered stab wounds, one with serious injuries. All were rushed to hospital.
This is despite heightened security presence in the area for the Conservative Party Conference.

On Tuesday evening, around 6PM at Hackney Central a man was knifed on a London Overground train. Commuters rushed from the train, causing nearly a stampede, as they fled after witnessing a rail passenger stabbed.
The man was arrested, a spokesman for British Transport Police revealed. The victim was rushed to hospital and is still being treated for his injuries. His condition is not thought to be life-threatening.
A BTP statement said: “Police are asking that anyone who was at Hackney Central Overground station and saw anything suspicious to please get in touch.”
