Poland’s ruling conservatives led by the Law and Justice (PiS) party would win 38 percent of the vote if elections were to be held this week, according to a new poll.

The country’s governing United Right coalition brings together Law and Justice, Jarosław Gowin’s Porozumienie (Alliance) party and Zbigniew Ziobro’s Solidarna Polska (United Poland) grouping. Support for the ruling conservatives has gone up 2 percentage points since a similar survey in May, pollster Kantar Millward Brown SA said.

Meanwhile, the Civic Platform (PO), the country’s largest opposition party, can count on 21 percent support, a drop of 7 percentage points from May, according to the survey, which was commissioned by private broadcaster TVN.
