French police are warning the public to stay away from Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.

A suspect armed with a hammer was shot by police on Tuesday.

The suspect attacked a police officer with a hammer.

This is Paris — where police roam the streets with guns to protect citizens from violent Islamists.
