When the people of the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union, they surely couldn’t have imagined the effect that it would have worldwide.
It was only shortly thereafter that Donald Trump won the U.S. Presidential election in November which sent shock waves throughout the world.
Angela Merkel is on the hot seat in Germany, Renzi is out in Italy, and now Bloomberg reports that conservative populist Marine Le Pen is leading in France.
Marine Le Pen is gaining support in France and has taken the lead in a major survey of voters’ intentions for the first round of the presidential election.
The populist leader of the National Front had between 25 percent and 26 percent support compared with 23 percent to 25 percent for Republican candidate Francois Fillon, according to an Ipsos Sopra Steria poll for Cevipof and Le Monde. In mid December, Fillon led with about 28 percent and Le Pen around 25 percent.
Since the election of Donald Trump as U.S. president on Nov. 8, the French race has been closely-watched as another crucial battle between populist and establishment forces.

Shy BREXIT breeze from the North finally reached
France. Although it’s not that strong as Trump’s hurricane, hopefully it would

ILLEGAL ALIEN SWARMING of Europe, support to Right parties should be much
higher from this mild 26%, unless pols are “reliable” the way they
were with Trump. I sincerely hope 2017 will be the year when Europe returned to

Sanity returns to France (we hope). Vive Marine Le Pen. Vive La France.
