An eye-catching video showing Chinese combat biomorphic robots has emerged in the Internet.
Chinese military biomorphic robots resembling animals were spotted in a video which found its way to the Internet, Russian newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta reported.
According to the makers of the video, the footage was taken during the “Overcoming Obstacles 2016” competition which took place in China’s Heilongjiang Province.
Taking part in the contest were 73 teams from special research institutes and industrial enterprises, including the Engineering Academy of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army’s Armored Forces, National Defense University, the China North Industries Corporation NORINTO and Beijing University of Technology.
Last month, Chinese President Xi Jinping called for improving the strategic planning and combat service support in the country’s armed forces, the People’s Liberation Army.

I’ve seen these before, we were working on similar robots in the US too, by DARPA, I think they were called: Alpha Dog?
Apparently, the robots were too noisy and the research was shut down; I think the original purpose of the quadruple legged robots were to help with logistics.

Robotics is still relativity juvenile, we have a ways to go until we see any robots at the vanguard, especially with respect to power supply.
