Thousands Shocked After Seeing Floating City in China's Skies

Chinese TV news reports have detailed an unusual phenomenon witnessed by thousands of residents in two separate areas who reported seeing a massive city materialize in the skies. Onlookers, some of whom allegedly recorded the event, were captivated as a towering cityscape appeared amidst the clouds.

The first occurrence unfolded over Foshan in the Guangdong province, where thousands observed a ghostly alien city suspended in the sky. A few days later, residents in the Jiangxi province reported a similar sighting of a cloud city.

Meteorologists explained the spectacle as a natural mirage known as Fata Morgana, an optical illusion caused by the distortion and inversion of distant objects due to varying air temperatures. In the case of Fata Morgana, distant objects such as boats can appear as skyscrapers when rays of light bend through air of different temperatures, as seen in a heat haze.

While weather experts provided a scientific explanation, conspiracy theorists seized upon the mystery. Previous reports in 2011 documented a similar sighting in China, leading some to speculate about unconventional explanations.

Paranormal Crucible, a YouTube channel, suggested in a video report that the footage might depict “the result of a project blue beam test.” Project Blue Beam is a widely circulated conspiracy theory predicting that NASA will use holograms to simulate an alien invasion or the second coming of Christ. Originating in the 1980s, this theory has made various predictions, none of which have materialized.

Observing the repetition of the group of buildings in the footage, some online posters speculated about computer-generated manipulation. One user commented, “If it isn’t someone making it on their computer, it seriously could be Project Blue Beam.”

The Paranormal Crucible video added another layer of speculation, proposing the possibility of a temporal vortex or a parallel universe briefly manifesting into reality. In the context of China’s technological achievements, the video suggested the potential testing of top-secret holographic technology over a heavily populated area to gauge public reactions. The mysterious sky phenomenon, while scientifically explained, has fueled imaginative and speculative interpretations among conspiracy theorists.
