Lebanese President Michel Sleiman has tasked caretaker Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour with filing an urgent complaint with the UN Security Council against a recent Israeli airstrike.
Israeli warplanes bombed a target near the coastal town of Naameh, between Beirut and Sidon, on Friday, a day after rockets were fired from Lebanon into Israel.
The Israeli military said in a statement that its air force targeted a site south of Beirut “in response to rockets launched at northern Israel yesterday.”
The Lebanon-based Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command (PFLP-GC) said one of its bases was hit in Naameh. The group, however, denied any involvement in Thursday’s rocket attack into Israel. The Palestinian group supports the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Neither of the attacks caused casualties or much damage.
Abdullah Azzam Brigades, an Al-Qaeda-linked group, has claimed responsibility for the rocket attack into Israel. The group had fired rockets into Israel in 2009 and 2011.

Where was the UN when Israel bombed the newly arrived Syrian jets!!! Poor Israel, the innocent state!!!!
We all know the scenario, no matter how much Israel violated any laws or human rights, it’s always protected by USA “VETO”s!!!!!! UN Security Council will never be of any good when it comes to protecting human rights because the VETOs are only driven by individual State’s own interest and not what’s right and what’s not.
Hypocracy!!
