The Obama administration has developed a keen interest in the Amish folks of Lancaster County, Pa., due to their lifestyle and not their carbon footprint. The cattle on their dairy farms produce milk and manure.
It is claimed that great piles of manure are the source of pollutants from Lancaster County to the Chesapeake Bay due to run-off from heavy rains. Lancaster County is far from the Chesapeake Bay.
Agents have been dispatched to “educate” the Amish in methods the Obama administration requires for lifestyle changes. They use no electricity and few automobiles, so how dare they live without government assistance?
There is no information given on how the administration determined their manure was the particular pollutant.
How was that particular pollutant identified after being mixed with waters of the Potomac, which also carries runoff from Washington, D.C.?
Is this an attempt to blame the Amish for the pollution caused by all the “BS” in Washington, D.C., or is this just the result of the president’s search for an ass to kick?

Why does it seem the only groups obama & cohorts approve of are illegals, black panthers and muslims? Tells one something…doesn’t it?

Actually the Susquehanna River’s mouth is the Chesapeake Bay and Susquehanna River runs through Lancaster County. There have been studies that pesticides and manure from this region have contributed greatly to the pollution in the Chesapeake Bay.
Several points missed on this, but the horribly wrong point on pollution is my main point. Cattle manure doesn’t add things to these rivers that folks try to claim it does. The majority of cattle manure breaks down, is absorbed in the soils, gets processed in natural plant activity, then naturally fertilizes the ground. Sure, there are some chemicals periodically when some producers use too much or certain kinds of wormers to kill the parasites in the cattle. But the Amish generally aren’t in that group. I agree that folks need to learn a bit instead of taking something that they read as being “fact”. Our EPA is using crap ‘science’ to try and get more money in their budget by going after a minority group: Farmers and Ranchers.
Hey Obama, how about you leave these people alone! Out of all people, don’t terroris them you terrorist, that’s what you are, lets just face the facts already people, what else would you call this, it’s an inside job and it’s horrible beyond belief, God help us all!
Charles, there were still groups of Amish living the plain lifestyle up into the 1930s in Germany. Like all other lesser religious groups, the Nazi regime was not friendly to them. It is true however that most of them emigrated earlier, many of them as late as the late 19th century. That immigration into the US continued into the 20th century to some extent. The point is that an important part of their purpose and philosophy is to live without participation or influence from government. That does not seem to be allowed anymore.

People should check this kind of stuff out before republishing it.

I have been keeping an eye on this issue for many months, and I can assure you that the FDA and others are taking a rather unhealthy interest in the Amish in much the same way the Nazis took an unhealthy interest in the Roma (as is happening again here in Europe under new Fascists).

Wow, it’s amazing how anything Obama does turns into something so negative. Why do you think you know more than him about what is polluting the bay? If their manure is polluting water sources then it should be stopped. Just like anything else, including factory and industrial waste if that is the cause. If he would have gone after the factory, there would have been a bigger uproar for taking away jobs when there is already high unemployment. And by the way…it sounds so stupid when someone goes on a rant about something and says someone should be shot and then follows by God Bless. That is why I am not religious or believe any of that crap. Religious sheeple are so hypocritical.
I feel relatively secure in the belief that I know more than Obama about waste run off for the simple fact that I have common sense. Common sense is not something Mr. Obama could ever make claim to.
THe Amish self sufficiency is the target of the Obama regime. The Progressives hate the self sufficiency and their ethnicity.
The Nazis did not drive the Amish out of Germany! They emigrated to America in the 1750s to build a better life for themselves. They have done just that without any help from the U.S. government.

James, you might have missed the piece that has one of the Obama heads declaring Milk an oil product. Where the picture came from I don’t know, but I do know that new restrictions are being placed on how milk is obtained, and how it is processed. I read that a little over a month ago in one of my online papers.
