Yesterday, a listener’s son was offended that his school, Klein Collins High School, displayed the Mexican flag prominently. His mother called to complain, and the school wouldn’t return her call. The student took the sign down.
The school pitched a fit, reviewed the surveillance tapes, found the student, and suspended him for 3 days. AND he has to pay for the flag. In light of the SF story of students sent home for wearing the AMERICAN flag because it offended the Hispanic students, I thought you’d like to know about a story closer to home.
Right here in our community. Feel free to let the school know what you think. You pay their salaries.

You realize, I assume, that if a student removed – or even burned – the AMERICAN flag, they wouldn’t do anything about it, I’ll bet.

:-x So let me get this straight. If you are a minority and are offended things get changed to make you feel happy. Know if you are not a minority you can’t possible be offended. This incident seems to prove that. If a minority would have complained, things would have happened. Since it was a white person than there was no cause for offense to be taken. How about the administration returning a phone call from a concerned parent that pays there over inflated pay checks. The problem may have been solved. Oh wait a minute, there shouldn’t have been a problem to start with because us poor, dumb, stupid, white people can’t be offended.
This is total bullcrap….If it was higher I would be one of the first to call it out! I went to High School in Texas and I know how they put up their flags. First off, the Mexican Flag is not on the second floor, it’s in between the first and second. Which flag is he refering that it is higher than? Is it invisible? Is he refering to the flag outside? Which flag?!? If he wants to refer to the ones on the first floor I’m 100% positve there are flags on the second accompanied by the Texas flag in EVVVVERRRYYY class room.

People who are offended by this can leave America, it is completely disrespectful to fly any flag whatsoever over the American Flag. Christina, who cares if he threw it in the trash, it isn’t like he did this at a Mexican Embassy, he did it in a school, and if throwing a Mexican Flag in the trash is grounds for suspension then I believe burning an American Flag shouldn’t be free speech.
:oops: This is my school, Klein Collins. The student was suspended for three days, with three days of ISS (in school suspension). He didn’t do it to be racist or anything. He felt that it was higher than the American Flag. Which it actually was, considering it was posted on the SECOND FLOOR. Of course it would be higher than a flag on the FIRST FLOOR. All the protesters in front of the school, including all the news media is completely ridiculous. He made a mistake. But build a bridge, and get over it.
Now this is the time to send e-mails, letters, make phone-calls to that – possibly – wetback principalos assholos and superintendentos. Demand their resignations! Suspend a student from education for this bologni is unacceptable!

Every 4th of july the U.S. embassy celebrates the declaration of independence with fire works and flag waving in Dominican Republic. Dominican do not sabotage their celebration by bringing the Dominican flag nor we protest their loud display and instead we respect that tradition.
I think the U.S. is becoming too sensitive and intolerant and there is an attempt to make the U.S. monocultural and unirace.

They come here because their labor conditions in Mexico are horrid. The US government drafted NAFTA in agreement with Mexico’s president and Canada’s to allow their manufacturing to get awesome perks by closing down operations up here and moving them to Mexico, where there are no labor laws. So American corporations are using child labor, working twice as many hours as they should, in dangerous high temperature conditions.
So they risk their lives to come here because at least the conditions are better. They have families too remember. So they come here and still pay taxes, because they are given fake social security numbers, then they send all their money back to Mexico, so both the US government gains by taxes paid but no benefits paid out to them and Mexican economy gets all the billions wired into the nation via Western Union, etc. from Mexican workers who are here working to make money to support their families.
All keep in mind this is all done for corporations and the goals of the one worlders (Council on Foreign Relations).
The average Mexican is getting very little out of this – it’s the governments and corporations gaining the most. Just remember that.
Sharpinchitown you need to do a little more research before you post an idiotic statement that illegal aliens pay income taxes. They work under fake SSN’s, then they claim 15 dependents,so no money is taken out then send the money to Mexico. Oh and the key term is Illegal Alien! What part of that do you not understand?
The average Mexican is getting little? Where have you had your head buried? Think they are getting little? Check up the latest stats on the welfare system, the health care system, the school system, not to mention the costs of the illegals incarcerated. Are you just stupid or naive? Did the writer of this article even look at the picture he posted. There is no American flag flying upside down. In fact, the Mexican flag is inside the school and not even by an American flag. If someone doesn’t want the placement of the Mexican flag where it is, then use his free speech. This is not a courgerous act. Are we goin to take rulers to measure the height of flags from now on? This is silly and makes conservatives look silly.

I ma completely outraged. Hw dare anyone fly ANY flag above the American Flag, in AMERICA!!! And they hung our flag upside down? What a total slap in the face to all Americans. The student(s) that were suspended deserve more than just an appology from this school. They did what ANY proud American would have done. I applaude them, the students, for correcting this act of desrespect towards our country.

Sorry but a) you have conflated two different stories and b) you are yelling at the wrong side: “They” are you… the MX flag flown over an upside down US flag (naval code for “ship in distress”) was perpetrated by ppl PROTESTING immigration reform laws, not those supporting them. So they were RIGHT wing, ANTI-immigration protesters. And in the above case, the MX flag was not being flown on a flagpole but hanging on a railing not even close to the US flag above all on several flagpoles. So you are all going nuts over nothing. In my HS we had flags of different countries all over the place, and no one ever tried to throw one out.
