If the story were true, then there would be a link to the source, instead of relying on the word of whomever wrote this story as to the veracity of the content. Where did the person who wrote this story get his/her information? If the person had this evidence, then they would have provided a link so that we could all view it, instead of taking their word for it. In this day and age, there needs to be proof that we can all see. Just like there is video proof of Obama claiming there are 57 states, during the campaign; we don’t have to rely on someone claiming they heard him say it, we can hear it for ourselves. That’s what I’m getting at. Before I believe this story, I want to see the source report where the author got the information.

Well, I’m not of the frothing at the piehole variety like a certain super secret ninja squirrel anarchist is, but I will disseminate the story as a hoax by looking objectively at the content, not going after individual posters like ssng has done, who, btw, is my new favorite sooper trooper for saying a lot without really saying anything.
First off; there is no link to the actual report being cited as the source document for the information being put out there.
Second; there is no description of what, exactly, a National Security Letter is and what its purpose is.
Third; the old “so secret you can’t even acknowledge you have been issued one” crappola makes it very hard to prove that such a thing even exists, so the author has some cover from scrutiny by putting that in there.
Fourth; as everyone knows, you can’t enter into a binding treaty without having it voted on by the full Senate. That makes it pure lip service to sign something as a treaty without the consent and approval of the Senate (remember when Clinton wanted Kyoto, but knew he couldn’t get it passed in the Senate, so he didn’t even present it for a vote?). So, scratch the UN gun grab. Plus, if you look atthe Constitution, no treaty can supercede our Constituional rights, so; since we have that 2nd Amendment thingy……it would be a moot point.
Let’s concentrate on the many real things he’s doing and not worry about the stuff that people make up; okay?

There are three branches of government, and the executive branch can’t do a whole lot without congressional approval–this includes signing treaties and making deals with foreign nations. There aren’t too many idiots in Special Ops, you have to have good test scores (ASVAB and DLAB), be eligible for a security clearance and be an NCO just to be considered. After that there is a very difficult selection process, a ridiculously hard school called Q-Course and language training at a minimum.

@D. Ellison: Re the New Orleans gun grab, it was Mayor Ray Nagin who sent out the City Police to confiscate the guns. The Nat’l Guard was not involved. Then, the National Rifle Assn. immediately took the City to court and the order was rescinded, because of the 2nd amendment which Mayor Nagin chose to violate. No receipts were given for the firearms, so whether the rightful owners ever got them back is not known.
The ACLU took them to court NOT the NRA.
The NRA filed the suit, and the ACLU joined in the suit.
