Police in South Africa are investigating a vile Facebook campaign designed to incite racial hatred ahead of the World Cup in June. The campaign was allegedly set up by supporters of politician Julius Malema and includes disturbing messages calling for the “rape and slaughter” of whites and the murder of President Jacob Zuma. One contributor threatened violence, stating, “Every trespasser, namely white whores, we will rape them and kill them… White kids will be burned.” The campaign intensifies tensions in South Africa, particularly after the recent murder of white supremacist Eugene Terreblanche.
Terreblanche’s killing led to clashes outside a court in Ventersdorp, where two black farm workers appeared accused of the crime. The 15-year-old and 21-year-old defendants faced an angry crowd of 2,000 people, with police using razor wire to separate factions reminiscent of the apartheid era. The case was adjourned, and right-wing fanatics have vowed revenge.
Amid these tensions, South African leaders, including President Zuma, have called for calm. Julius Malema, who leads the youth wing of Zuma’s African National Congress party, reportedly received death threats and was under police guard. The Facebook page, attracting over 15,000 followers, has been shut down. Malema and the ANC Youth League insisted it was not an official supporters’ page.
Despite the disturbing events, Lawrence Schlemmer, vice president of the South African Institute of Race Relations, emphasized that the World Cup should not be affected, stating, “There is no reason why these things, as tragic as they are, should affect the safety of fans or players at the World Cup. The World Cup and sport, as it is supposed to, channels passions and reconciles conflict.”

Ive worked Atlanta and New Orleans and if one thing is constant, its that blacks ruin every city they become majority of. One of my best memories of New Orleans was seeing postal workers carrying guns in the open. What majority white or asian town does this happen in??
