The Whole of Afghanistan Is Not Worth One Drop of British Blood, Says Nick Griffin

“The entire country of Afghanistan is not worth one drop of British blood. Britain has no business in that country; the war was based on a lie and we need to get our troops out as quickly as possible before any more are killed,” said Nick Griffin MEP.

Speaking to BNP News after attending the heartbreaking Wootton Bassett repatriation ceremony of the remains of the latest six soldiers killed in Afghanistan, Mr Griffin said he had refused to make a political statement at that solemn ceremony.

Now that it was over, he wanted the public to know exactly where he and the British National Party stand on the Afghanistan war.

“We are 100 percent implacably opposed to it,” Mr Griffin said. “There are no British interests served by our army being in that country.

“The war is based on a series of grotesque lies, manufactured by the Labour and Tory party leadership. They claim that it is being fought to prevent terrorism. This is nonsense.

“Instead of preventing terrorism, the war there is actually encouraging it. The whole of southern Afghanistan is now a giant terrorist training camp, with live targets — our soldiers.

“The Labour and Tories claim that fighting in Afghanistan prevents terrorism in Britain. This is a horrid lie. Everyone knows that Muslims from Britain are actively fighting against us in Afghanistan.

“Furthermore, intelligence sources quoted by Gordon Brown reveal that two thirds of all terror plots in Britain come from Pakistan, not some peasants in Afghanistan,” Mr Griffin said.

“The only thing this war is achieving is to destabilise Pakistan. That country’s government is struggling hard to contain radical Islamism inside its borders. The Western military presence in Afghanistan is only serving to fan the flames of hatred and fanaticism, which makes things even harder for the Pakistani government.

“If things carry on as they are now, it is possible that both Afghanistan and Pakistan will ultimately fall to radical Islamism.

“Apart from the nightmare of a nuclear weapon-armed Islamist government in Pakistan, such an occurrence will also mean civil war on the streets of Britain,” Mr Griffin said.
“In the midst of all this, our boys and girls are being killed for something that has nothing at all to do with this country. You should have seen the faces of the bereaved families this afternoon. Anyone who could look at them and think this war is a good idea, is certifiably insane.”

Mr Griffin said that the disgrace was made even worse by the fact that once committed, the British soldiers were deliberately undersupplied.

“How many soldiers have been killed because of a lack of helicopters for transport?

“How many of our soldiers have to buy their own kit because the material with which they are supplied is substandard? The public knows all of this to be true.

“The BNP demands the immediate withdrawal of our troops from Afghanistan. Our soldiers’ lives must never be risked for anything except the protection of Britain, and never for anything else,” Mr Griffin said.

“Enough lives have been given up. Too many of our heroes have fallen to defend the lies of the Labour and Tory establishment. The bloodshed must stop, and it must stop right now.”

* Mr Griffin also pointed out that the BNP was the very first political party in Britain to come out in opposition to both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. “We did that even when it was not fashionable, because we knew it to be the truth,” he said. “The BNP will always tell the truth, no matter what the other lying establishment parties say, and the public is now recognising this fact.”
