Jefferson County Drug Deal Turns Deadly After Chase

A drug deal turns deadly in Jefferson County. Two men are in custody having been charged in an accident that killed an innocent High Ridge man. Police say Shauwn Nettles and Stanley Scott were sent by a drug dealer to the Kmart in High Ridge to retaliate for a problem with a prior drug deal.

When the buyers arrived, police say Nettles and Scott started firing shots and chased their Jeep down Highway 30. A toddler was inside the car. The chase ended in Cedar Hill on Highway B after the Jeep crashed into an oncoming car driven by Tony Herget. Herget died at an area hospital.

Jefferson County Prosecuter Forrest Wegge says, “The homicide did not occur at their direct hand but as a result of the crime they were committing

Nettles and Scott were charged with second-degree murder for their role in the deadly crash.
