Tony R. Dixon, a teenager who was given nine years of probation in the shooting of a Knoxville police officer, has been arrested on a charge of attempted aggravated burglary.
Dixon testified against Cleven J. Johnson in the May 2008 wounding of Knoxville Police Officer Norman Rickman.
Johnson was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
Dixon was 17 when he was sentenced to enhanced probation in February.
The Knoxville News Sentinel reported Dixon and three other teens were seen trying to break into a house early Monday. Police spokesman Darrell DeBusk said the intruders were scared away by a dog.
DeBusk said officers stopped a car matching the description given by witnesses and found Dixon, D’Mitri Morris, 19, and two boys, ages 17 and 16.
