Deidre was a 20 years old a beautiful woman when her life was cruelly snuffed out at approximately 4AM on Saturday 16 May. A drunken ANC councillor went racing through a red traffic light and smashed into Deidre’s Citroen C2, instantly killing her. The drunken kaffir had another five primates in his BMW 3 series he was illicitly driving.
Potchefstroom – An ANC councillor has been involved in an accident in which two people were killed, in a car which should have been repossessed.
Stoffel Moeng, a Kenneth Kaunda district municipality councillor, and five passengers were in a BMW when they ignored a red light and crashed into a student’s Citroën C2 early on Saturday morning.
Deidre Prinsloo, 20, died in the accident which happened at about 04:00 at the intersection of Meyer street and the Ventersdorp road. Ivan Mogale, a passenger in the BMW, was also killed instantly.
Bystanders at the accident scene could apparently smell alcohol in the BMW, and saw several alcohol bottles inside the car.
Arrears
Moeng is about R100 000 in arrears on payments for the white BMW.
Allan Jones, DA councillor of the Ventersdorp municipality, said Moeng should have lost possession of the vehicle a long time ago.
The BMW is part of the fleet of vehicles belonging to the Ventersdorp municipality. It was acquired a few years ago by means of a rental agreement with Fleet Africa. The BMW was one of several vehicles which are used personally by councillors or officials.
Agreements were made with the municipality, in terms of which payments would be deducted from their salaries, said Jones.
Between the time of the agreements and the time of the accident, Moeng was “re-deployed” to the district municipality, and since then, his car payments have gone into arrears of about R100 000. However, the car was never taken back.
“I even reported the case to the provincial department of local government, but I never had any response,” said Jones.
‘Not ready to talk’
Moeng confirmed that he was injured in the accident, but said he “doesn’t feel ready to talk now” when Beeld approached him for comment telephonically.
Desiré Kruger, Prinsloo’s mother, has said that she has so many beautiful memories of her daughter that she doesn’t want to waste energy on the circumstances surrounding the accident.
“I know the Lord will make something good out of Deidre’s death. She was a sunshine child who drew everyone toward her light,” Kruger said.

I dont think is proper and just to talk about reconciliation when other people felt that its right to open the healing wounds and name other people with forbidden names, unless this person is not a South African. Iam saying this because we have waited 365 years for freedom under extreme persecution by minorities yet we are prepared to say lets forgive and forget. It is true that some one had to face the law but to ignite a race issue it means some one is bitter to a nation not an individual.
