The article goes on to report that Obama supporters have had some difficulty reaching out to white audiences as of late. True, Obama’s racially-charged rhetoric has done little to attract white votes, just his failure to respect the American flag during the national anthem and his wife’s “finally proud to be an American” commentary will never top the list of ‘most advantageous campaign moves’ …but the article mentions none of this. The fact that Obama followed around a white-hating pastor for twelve years did not make its way into the report, either – and perhaps for good reason. The report claims that Obama’s recent campaigning difficulties have nothing to do with what he did wrong; MSNBC suggests that the only thing wrong is what is “wrong” with whites who are not voting for him because he is black. With that, Obama is made to look like the poor victim of an evil white world where evil white racists go to the polls. To support this victim theory, the article quotes a few people working for Obama campaign who claim to have heard racist insults and a handful of whites say – (gasp!) – they would never vote for a black candidate.
The fallacy here is one of presumption due to a biased sample. If white America were really too racist to vote “Obama”, then it would also be too racist to stand still while the white race is accosted, brainwashed, subject to discriminatory biases and denied the right to protect itself from dying a slow death at the hands of the system. As if the lack of white resistance were evidence enough to refute MSNBC’s claim, all one was to do is look at the statistics: whites are voting for Obama.
Funny how the media tries to weave a story about “white racism” by mentioning three or four examples, thus avoiding the real news: blacks are standing almost unanimously behind Obama.
If it is racism for a person to not vote for a candidate because of race, then what is it when someone supports a candidate simply because of their race? If one is really committed to fighting for integration and against racialized exclusivism, a 92% black vote for Obama should be just as great of a concern as a dozen white boogeymen causing a stir by announcing they’ll never vote black. In fact, it should be of even greater concern. If current voting patterns are what “post-racialism” will look like, then America’s fate will be no different from the fate of every other multicultural nation which preceded the U.S. of America.
I am not for Obama at all he is ruining this country and taking away all our rights we are no longer a free country any more but i know one damn thing a femal president would have screwed us alot harder hillary clinton is a BITCH!!!!! :-D
