Huckabee’s Son Kills Dog, Dad Covers Up
By James Buchanan
There seems to be a new damaging scandal about Mike Huckabee every week. First we found out that Huckabee considers it “un-Christian” to deny state benefits to illegal aliens and that Huckabee’s past remarks indicate he was completely for Open Borders and Amnesty –at least until he did a last minute flip flop and started pretending to be tough on illegals.
Then we found out that Huckabee pressured a parole board to release Wayne DuMond. Huckabee denies this, but then three members of the parole board say he did. And there’s that letter Huckabee wrote to DuMond saying that he wanted DuMond out of prison. Wayne DuMond went on to rape and kill two women in Missouri. Mike Huckabee also handed out pardons and commutations to 1033 other criminals while governor.
The latest scandal involves Huckabee’s son at a Boy Scout camp. A Newsweek article reports “As Mike Huckabee gains in the polls, the former Arkansas governor is finding that his record in office is getting more scrutiny. One issue likely to get attention is his handling of a sensitive family matter: allegations that one of his sons was involved in the hanging of a stray dog at a Boy Scout camp in 1998. The incident led to the dismissal of David Huckabee, then 17, from his job as a counselor at Camp Pioneer in Hatfield, Ark. It also prompted the local prosecuting attorney— bombarded with complaints generated by a national animal-rights group—to write a letter to the Arkansas state police seeking help investigating whether David and another teenager had violated state animal-cruelty laws. The state police never granted the request, and no charges were ever filed.”
David Huckabee
What kind of pathological individual would kill a poor, stray, hungry dog? Most normal human beings would try to get the dog some food. Maybe wrap a blanket around it. David Huckabee (pictured right) claims he did a “mercy killing” of the dog. Shouldn’t that sort of decision be left up to a veterinarian or the Animal Control Department? Could it be that David Huckabee and his friend were bored at the Boy Scout camp and decided to kill a stray dog just for fun?
The Newsweek article continues “John Bailey, then the director of Arkansas’s state police, tells NEWSWEEK that Governor Huckabee’s chief of staff and personal lawyer both leaned on him to write a letter officially denying the local prosecutor’s request. Bailey, a career officer who had been appointed chief by Huckabee’s Democratic predecessor, said he viewed the lawyer’s intervention as improper and terminated the conversation. Seven months later, he was called into Huckabee’s office and fired.”
So David Huckabee killed a stray dog and Mike Huckabee pressured law enforcement not to investigate a very suspicious case of animal cruelty which happened to involve his son. This is known as “abuse of power” or “obstructing justice.”
Mike Huckabee bears some responsible for raising a sociopath, who would kill a dog for no reason. Mike Huckabee bears full responsibility for getting in the way of an animal cruelty prosecution.
