-Intel is leading the Quad Core microprocessors battle. Dual Core means that inside a processor there are 2 cores but not long ago Intel was the first to introduce the Quad Core technology with 4 cores inside a single CPU. Intel announced that it has reached the number of 3 million sold Quad Core CPUs from November 2006 thus “forcing” the company to produce new and more Quad Core based CPUs starting with January 2008. Intel just announced it’s future new Quad Core models with Yorkfield core made on Penryn 45nm (nanometers) technology. Core 2 Quad Extreme QX9650 with 3GHz and 12MB cache L2 and a FSB of 1333MHz and it will cost more than $1000, Q9950 (2.83GHz, 12MB cache), Q9450 (2.66GHz, 12MB cache), Q9300 (2.5GHz, 6MB cache). Intel will also release new models of Dual Core Wolfdale based CPUs: E8500 (3.16GHz, 6MB cache), E8400 (3GHz, 6MB cache), E8200 (2.66GHz, 6MB cache). Before all of these, Intel will launch a 65nm Dual Core Conroe model E4600 2.4GHz, 2MB cache,
