Nearly 350 migrants from Africa were ‘rescued’ by Spanish authorities and brought to the Canary Islands in a span of 24 hours this week, according to reports.

On Wednesday, at least six vessels reached waters near multiple islands in the Canaries.

The Spanish coast guard brought 344 migrants to shore over the course of the day, Salvamento Marítimo sources told EFE, the Spanish wire service.

Salvamento Marítimo shared photographs from multiple operations, including one where 58 males from sub-Saharan Africa were removed from a canoe and taken to Gran Canaria.

More than 230 migrants were pulled from four boats that originated from port cities in Morocco and Western Sahara.

A final craft bearing 60 occupants arrived near the port of Arguineguín on Gran Canaria.

“According to provisional data from the Ministry of the Interior, at least 15,466 migrants arrived in the Canary Islands in 2022, which represents a 25% decrease compared to 2021,” El Digital Sur reports.

Infowars Europe has been documenting waves of illegal migration to the Canary Islands in recent years.

Most of migrants who reach the Canaries plan to eventually travel to the European mainland, either by claiming asylum, hopping flights, or by paying human traffickers to facilitate the journey.
